When using the API to perform a query, we are unable to use extracted fields are constraints when defining the query.
NOTE: Although the query returns extracted fields, it does not accept extracted fields.
As a Log Insight user and a member of a devops team, I would like to... * be able to set the aggregation as the "raw value" of an extracted field * be able to configure the unit of time to any arbitrary length of time ...because... * I have created a script that generates a log message with an aggregated value * the aggregated value within the log messages generated by the script can be extracted using the extracted ...more »
As a vSphere Administrator, I expect the Log Insight servces to reuse sessions to collect data for vSphere for vSphere Integration, because observing multiple active sessions does not appear to be efficient use of vSphere resources.
As a vRealize Log Insight user, I would like to display more than the default 50 event when performing a query and would like to increase the default value.
As a vRealize Log Insight user, I would like to individual set the Dashboard Widget time values to override the Dashboard date and time value.
As a vRealize Log Insight administrator, I would like to configure my cluster nodes to listen to multiple IP address over multiple NICs because I want the cluster communication to be separate from the user communication for security reasons.
As a vRealize Log Insight administrator, I need the ability to assign the "master" responsibilities to different node in the Log Insight cluster because...
...the node which is currently master is damaged due to an underlying infrastructure problem.
...I am decommissioning some or all of the nodes in a cluster I intend to replace.
As a vRLI administrator, I would like to manage how much resources are devotes to performing queries for different tenants on the same vRLI cluster because I want to avoid the noisy neighbor problem if one tenant is performing a disproportional number of queries relative to other tenants.
As a vRLI Administrator, I would like to have control over which users have access to which vRLI features because I want to revoke the ability for a user to perform an export of the data.
Today, when performing a query that takes a long time, we display a progress bar and a pause button where the log messages are displayed. If a query takes longer that several seconds to complete, the vRLI UI should offer tips while the query is completing. For example.. "Your date filters include X days and Y events, you may want to consider reducing the length of time..." "Your filters do not include a hostname, you ...more »
As a vRLI administrator, I need a method to get data about past queries to investigate past query attempts that may have not performed well.
The ability to investigate past queries allows me to validate whether the query failure or poor performance was the result of an outage with the infrastructure hosting vRLI or some other issue.
As a vRealize Log Insight user, I would like to interact with a cluster via API to create, modify, and delete Alerts.
